Jason, welcome back and thanks for 2 cents. Here is my assessment which is in somewhat agreement with yours:

1. In Ct, stores are neither empty nor busy. FEET is outpacing them in shoe sales but my guess is FEET will soon be out of its marked down inventory and begin charing normal prices.

2. Neither FEET nor TSA's apparel sales in Ct are great. There is a chain called Bobs which offers much broader apparel selection (sportswear as well as jeans, cargo pants, sweaters etc).

3. On the sporting goods side TSA faces strong competition in CT from Dick's which is advertising very aggessively for hunting season.

4. Re. shoes I think company is complaining too much and not doing enough - for example shoes represent about 25% of sales but occupy about 10 - 15% of floor space in the stores I visited. Greater floor space and wider selection would provide TSA with more shoe sales after FEET finishes with its marked down inventory.

5. Given the immensity of stores, company should think outside of box. E.g. why not sell video games where sales/sq ft is much greater?

all imo,
Gary
