I am not surprised by the info in those links....that the athlon is very available in Germany. My friends have said the same thing. And M. Dakota (is the sp. right?) has pretty much said that is true in the Netherlands as well. I am beginning to think that most of the Athlon production may have gone over to Europe where the intel inside label carries less wait.

If that is true, then AMD has become very savvy in their marketing. Of course, due to their finances they have no choice; they are driven to sell everything that they can produce with very, very little margin for error. That coupled with the K6 fiasco last quarter, when oems would not buy the chip because of prior AMD screwups, may have prompted AMD to sell in Europe first. Certainly a different marketing approach if it's true.
