This was exactly my thinking. I should have made it clear. Assuming that Athlon 500MHz is $80, then $90 for 550MHz is pure BS; it doesn't reflect anything we know about the pricing curve.

Even $80 for Athlon 500 is very doubtful. PeeIII 500 are selling for around $220 on Price Watch.
