Dear SW: I have done all that and I have ABSOLUTELY no desire to every return to Jackson Hole. Its the most crowded TOURISTY place I have ever seen. I think it took me 3 hours to drive through town in SEPTEMBER. Most scenic to me is the approach into Yellowstone from the North. I think its called BEAR TOOTH PASS. We have a Jeep Grand Cherokee and have done a lot of off roading throughout that area. Also hiked Brice Canyon and Zion. If you go to one you must go to the other, both nice. Have been to North and South Rim of Grand Canyon. North is far more desolate with lots of wildlife. South has better canyon views. Believe it or not, with a four wheel vehicle my actually best time was Death Valley. A lot to see in the canyons opening into the valley. JDN
