I agree with most of your statement. The method inwhich we give aid to foriegn countries is not correct.
(sorry, rant mode got stuck ON)
First, I'll address your questions.
<<Why won't the press cover the Alien's run at the Mexican / American border? >>
Two words, politically incorrect. The press can't admit that we have an illegal alien problem. That is a conservative issue.
<<However, there are people that do know better, are still wanting to work for a living and need the help of the U.S. taxpayer...>>
Unemployement is at an all time low. Businesses are starved for employees, fast food restaruants are paying $8 an hour.
If you don't have a job today, you have to be lazy. I don't help lazy people. I work for a living, so should everybody else.
I'm talking from experiance here. I grew up in one of those families that the goverment wanted to help. Free cheese and butter, food stamps, AFDC the whole ball of wax. All it ever did was keep my mother at home, because if she got a job, she'd lose all her benefits.
Fortunately, she got fed up by the time I was a teenager. She took advantage of Pell Grants, and got a nursing degree. She now earns about $38k a year, more than enough to live on. If you don't take advantage of these programs, you are stupid.
<<Did you know that our great government gave Billions to the Chinese?>>
Yep, and it is an insult to me. Every dollar we send to a red regime (notably China and Korea) is a dollar of US Taxpayers money that would have been better spent if it had been burned.
<<Why not pay off our Debt first? >>
90% of the debt is held by American companies and citizens. If your parents loans you money out of your inheritance, would you be in a hurry to pay it back? No, you'ld take care of other issues first. The national debt is larger than I like, but it is a fairly benign issue.
<<Why not treat our people to free healthcare first ...>>
Because there is already a thriving competative industry in this field. By socialising this industry, we would help a minority of Americans and harm the majority. This is not how democracy works.
<<Someone Explain to me how a little kid in Texas who's family had no insurance and needed an operation, died because the money went to Russia where it was syphoned off to the Russian Mob???>>
Yes, it was for one of two reasons. His parents didn't take the responsibility to get the education necessary to have health insurance, and/or they didn't belong to a very damn supportive church.
I have a rare liver condition known as Primary Sclerosing Colongitis. It is progressive and fatal. The only treatment (not cure, it comes back) is liver transplantation. This will cost me about $50,000 AFTER health insurance. Total cost is roughly $250,000.
Know how I'm gonna pay for it. 1) Personal savings. I invest 30% of my gross earnings. 2) Family support - I expect my family to kick in a couple grand. 3) Borrow the rest.
It would be nice if I had a church to help out too, but since I don't belong to one, I don't expect any help.
People should take care of their own problems. I am not responsible for your problems, my brothers problems, or the problems of the Russian Mafia. I am responsible for me, my wife, my children, and my parents. If I choose to help others (which I do often), I do it out of the kindness of my heart.
So, the best way to address these issues you bring up is to donate to your favorite charity. Depending on your tax bracket, Uncle Sam will subsisdize between 15 and 40% of your donation by reducing your taxes. This is how you help others, not by getting the goverment to dictate how its spends its money. |
