Don't be such a pessimist, its self destructive.

I didn't see this. Unfortunately, I start my new job monday, and won't be able to post from work anymore *sigh*.

Here is my question. Why do you think time travel is possible?

The universie is restricted by the speed of time (light represents this). And, via relativity, we know that MASS cannot move faster than this limit.

However, there are some indications that particles can move faster than this limit. Tacyons come to mind, and some experiments with photons have shown that they can be "tricked" into moving FTL.

But, there is no known theory for mass to be transfered into the past. As far as we know, mass is trapped in a linear progression from the beginning to the end of time.

I've been ignoring the fact however that technically, time travel into the future is possible. Not in the nature of a portal that you step through, but perceptual time travel to the individual.

Cyrogenics can be used to move a person from now to later. The person does not age, decay or learn during this time, but from their point of view, they go to sleep, and wake up decades, centuries or more in the future.

Of course, cyrogenics are unproven, no human has ever been brought back after being frozen. But, last I heard, there were chimps that had come back after being frozen for months, and showed no sign of mental degradation. So, it is probably possible.

However, am I missing a theory to move mass into the past? And if so, where can I look it up? Not being a pysicist, it is hard for me to keep more up to date than articles in market magazines and cable channels.
