Movie Gallery Gives More to Customers Through Innovative ``Extra Nights' Program Provides Economical Extended Viewing Option for Customers
DOTHAN, Ala.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Sept. 16, 1999--Movie Gallery, Inc., (Nasdaq:MOVI - news) today announced that it is offering more flexibility to it customers through its new ``Extra Nights' program, which was introduced Monday, September 13. With Extra Nights, Movie Gallery will give customers a choice to keep any movie or game an extra night for an additional 99 cents. ``We wanted to give our customers a program to fit their lifestyles,' said Ted Innes, Senior Vice President of Sales and Marketing. ``We believe Extra Nights is an inexpensive way for our customers to plan their entertainment and enjoy their movie or game without worrying about late fees.' Customers can use Extra Nights on any movie or game for up to seven days.
Extra Nights is available at the time of rental. Customers simply purchase the number of nights they want for each movie or game rental. Ninety-nine cents for each extra night will be added at the time of rental. Late fees will still apply to movies and games that are not returned by the end of the purchased rental period.
Currently, Movie Gallery is the only major video chain offering a pre-purchased Extra Nights program to its customers. Mr. Innes said, ``Extra Nights was tested in several stores and received a fantastic response from customers who used it, encouraging us to expand the program to all our 901 Movie Gallery and affiliated stores in 29 states.'
