The only alternative treatment I'm aware of is Ribavirin, an antiviral drug which may help a bit if used in the early stages of the illness - see the ICN thread for a little more discussion of this. It's nowhere near as attractive as prevention with RespiGam.

I think your other points are all very logical - I doubt that the price of MEDI-493 will be much different, just better margins.
