<Back in Paris, the Franco-Italian semiconductor maker -- STMicroelectronics NV (STM: news, msgs) -- surged 3.30 euros, or 4.65 percent, to 74.30. The company said Friday that it was selling 28.6 million ordinary shares in a global offering. The shares were priced at $74.625 each.
