Edison was wealthy, but you'd figure from his inventions that he'd be the WEALTHIEST man alive...probably ever. I'd quibble over who was the better physicist. I'm partial to Feynman because he made physics accessible. Even Schwinger had a problem with Feynman because of his ability to simplify and engage. Most physicists weren't capable of doing that. AND THAT is why Jobs and Ellison are special...they simplify and engage (but LE can be an asshole while he's doing it, and from what I've heard Jobs used to be an asshole).
