michael, what is a p/e ratio?

I'm embarrassed to admit that I didn't know, but I just looked it up in the new Microsoft Encarta dictionary which has only been out for two months but I was already lucky enough to pick up out of the bargain bin at Barnes and Noble for $2.45.

According to Encarta, it means "prize to employee ratio", and it's a business term that indicates the financial health of a company. It means how many tee-shirts, mugs and baseball caps a company gives out to its employees each year, and it's considered bearish by Wall Street mutual fund managers if it drops below 65. Microsoft gives out free soft drinks.

Don't thank me, no trouble! :-)

Regards,
