I usually take someone's post and then take each and every point in it, and then respond to each and every one. Look back at my posts (if you can stand it <g>) and you will see that my posting style IS to address each point.

Of course, there are some questions that are either personal or trivial and don't deserve answers. I will give you an example of one:
