Einstein talked of God, as in "God does not play dice with the universe". If pressed he would state is was Spinoza's God, by which I think he meant there was order to the universe but no concious interference.

it is said that Einstein produced his theory of relativity in an effort to prove to himself the existence of the creator.
relativity theory does run into singularities at the boundary of the event horizon of black holes.
the singularity is anything divided by 0, or anything divided by infinity.
pretty hard to argue that happened by accident. (it does not compute).

however, stephen hawkings has , in "A Brief History of Time", explained this away using quantum mechanics. how? unfortunately, it was over a year ago... and i've forgotten most of the important bits.
