Coconino's Uinta Oil & Gas wins expro right in Indian Reservation Utah
Dec. 31, 1996 Coconino's subsidiary Uinta Oil & Gas, Inc. was awarded the right to develop oil and gas reserves on approximately 4,300 acres of the Uinta Ouray Indian Reservation in Duchesne County, Utah. The company estimates that it could drill up to 50 new wells on the property, which currently contains two re-work well locations and is situated among several producing oil fields. The land received a favourable evaluation by an independent petroleum engineer, which places the probable reserves on one re-work location in excess of 109,000 barrels of oil and 25,000 mmcf of natural gas. The engineer notes that the surrounding area is experiencing a large increase in exploration activity by several major oil producers, as reflected in the number of new drilling permits filed for 1997.
Uinta currently owns and operates 19 productive oil and gas wells, 107 gas well locations, and 15 re-work well locations in north-eastern Utah. Uinta's property covers some 18,960 acres in the Uinta Basin, which is recognisedas one of the most petro-proliferous basins in the United States.

Was this the start of csma (or well for that matter), or where they got there name from?
