Find out if there will be supertitles. If so, the story will be very clear to you--just like a foreign film with subtitles. If not, read up on it (the Web is an excellent source), so you not only understand the plot, but know to listen or look for nuances. Get a recording from the library and listen to it in the car. Familiarity with the nusic will enhance the experience.

And since your wife is excited about seeing it, let her be your guide. But be open to it. I was indifferent to it until a few years ago when I happened upon some of the most beautiful music there is. Enjoy!
