Thread , for those who are using the search and sort. One thing I typically use is to key in to search for Negative Relative Strength but in a column of X's. I am trying to find the stocks that are down but are now demonstrating positive RS. You might also look for Positive RS only in a column of O's. This might also produce those stocks that are demonstrating long term pos. RS. but have fallen on bad times on the short run. Lots of ways to use the search. Don't always use the most obvious ways. Think it through and before you know it you will have found the exact search that fits your style and risk levels.
Here's another thing I do. I highly recommend you take the Gilder Technology letter. www.gildertech.com. I think he is the best visionary when it comes to technology and telecommunications. He is not a fundamentalist or technician but is a conceptional person. I use him for my inventory selection in technology and then use P&F to manage that inventory. Lets say he comes up with a new add to his portfolio and it does not fit the technical picture. IT goes into the inventory to be bought at a later date. When teh chart shapes up to my specifications (we are all different on this) then I will buy it. I will manage the position with P&F. If I'm stopped out I will plan to go back in on the next buy signal. I will probe for a trend. If he takes the stock out of the portfolio and I'm long, I tighten up the stops and will ride the stock as long as I can. If I am stopped out, I will no longer re-purchase the stock as it is not officially out of the inventory. Consider doing this with what ever service you use or feel comfortable with thei fundamental ratings. Investors Business Daily offers tons of great numbers you could incorporate into P&F. This way you play the piano with both hands. Also don 't forget to use the "internet resource screen" which allows you to surf the net dragging the charting system with you. Tom
