Lather.Rinse.Repeat., nobody is trying to evangelize anybody on this thread. We are talking about the right of Kansas school children to hear all opinions in school about the potential origin of man: these come from brimstone and fire sermons as well as from lunatics like Dawson and Sagan who believe that atoms spontaneously rearrange themselves into a Lamborghini. I can't Proveit. They can't Proveit. But what is more distasteful about their impassioned opinions than, say, some pastor's shouted sermon about fire and brimstone? The only thing we agree on (I think) is that ONE of those two preachers is doing a grave disservice. We disagree about which one ... and I am prepared to honor your opinion. All I ask is that you not repeat your attempt to evangelize me. I don't think we can ask for much more in a society that thrives on diversity of opinion. And I maintain that religious beliefs ( be they Catholic or Maoist or New Age or Stellar Ash) are all opinions - no less and no more.
