PB,

<I am anticipating Cumine. People seem to believe that clock for clock PIII .25 vs. Cumine will be a wash. This is silly. Wonder what the same Ugeek thing will show Cumine doing on Photoshop???>

I do not remember anyone claiming PIII and CuMine performance delta to be a wash. May be someone did and I missed it. (I read this thread fairly regularly - not all the messages and not all the time but fairly regularly)

I think the point that I would make is how do you expect CuMine to compare well with Athlon and Athlon Professional (unrelased but expected to be higher performance than Athlon and targetted for corporate market) when Athlon beats the crap out of PIII-Xeon and even dual PIII in some applications?

Now, we are not even talking about clock speeds here, though AMD seems well ahead of Intel in delivering 7xx MHz speed grades - even with a process handicap.

As much respect as I have for your thoughtful postings I constantly find myself at a loss trying to imagine why you might think Intel can keep up (unless AMD falls flat on its face).

Chuck
