Charles - <As much respect as I have for your thoughtful postings I constantly find myself at a loss trying to imagine why you might think Intel can keep up (unless AMD falls flat on its face).>

I do not believe AMD is ahead in the MHz department. Think about it. 650's are rare as hen's teeth. They may have a smattering of 700 systems for sale in Oct.

At the same time, what do you think is pumping out of the Intel fabs right now, keeping in mind that Intel usually has products on the shelves at release?

I view AMD's "releases" as very dubious, and do not anywhere meet the criteria for bin split and volume that Intel does.

I have access to other information on the channel that suggests that just announcing parts is not endearing the channel when they are not followed up with reliable product delivery and infrastructure.

If there are a slug of Tier One OEM announcements supporting K7, I will be more concerned. If upcoming announcements are limited to select retail chains in Europe offering systems, AMD has a long way to go. IMO.
