>but your profile represents the same lack of precocity tou >have acheived at your ripe old age of 29, and has no Email
I don't know what you're getting at, but whatever. I guess you're suggesting that my age has something to do with my opinions, or somehow makes my opinion invalid. Like I said, whatever. I've been "in the biz" for about half of those 29 years and I'd like to think that I've picked up a thing or two. Maybe not. I don't know.
And, I have a real problem with posting my email address, just the same as I wouldn't want to leave my phone number on this website.
>You may have confused techmology and development issues >with consumer trends and marketing, not surprising given >your Engineering background.
Well Jim, I do have an engineering background, but you may be surprised to know that I also have a Bachelor's Degree in Fine Arts in the field of dramatic and non-fiction (ie. journalism) writing. I have worked as an engineer, a journalist and run my own business, all at my ripe old 29 years. You're assuming that just because I've said that I'm an engineer that I understand nothing of the business workings (ie. consumer trends, marketing) of a software company and I'm afraid you're dead wrong.
I am not confusing technology and development issues with marketing and consumer trends issues - these issues are so tightly intertwined in the commercial software business that they are inseperable. You can't market 10 year old technology (ie. EGA graphics) and nonetheless consumers won't allow it to become a trend.
>But lacking of social communication skills does not explain >your critical discussion of another individual.
Lacking social communication skills? Speaking out and expressing an opinion shows a lack of social communication skills? Asking questions shows a lack of social communication skills? If calling someone on their own vacuous arguments makes me socially inept, fine. I can live with that.
>A consumer wouldn't know a TCP/IP connection if it reached >out of their box and punched 'em in the nose.
Sure. But they'd sure know it if that TCP/IP connection didn't work anymore because they were trying to connect with SUN/IP or MS/IP or MCI/IP.
>So, all I'm saying is lighten up on what I feel are personal attacks.
Well, just as you've advised me to just not invest in SW, I'll advise you to just take a pass the next time you see my name on the subject line. I'll post my observations just as anyone else will, and if I feel that Charlotte is posting B.S. here, I'll let her know. If you don't want to ask the hard questions and blindly hand your cash over to Charlotte, go for it. If there's someone on the fence who doesn't know any better, hopefully I can put some of my experiences on the line and help them make a decision.
