DRBES, yes, I remember the HUH? and the HUH? and the HUH? Don't worry about paUL and co, they will be back soon enough. I can hear them now: "that article is written by GAMERS, and everyone KNOWS they don't have a CLUE what PERFORMANCE is" :o) I approve of Intel's practice of dumping the P3's by slashing their prices. I have an Abit BX6 board (slot 1) that is currently running a Celeron 333 and I could try something faster that was real cheap. Hadn't figured out what to do with the processor serial number yet. I don't trust the sofware disable fixes, and Intel mentions a hardware fix. andygrove.com "Intel concerns about user privacy led to the incorporation of a user hardware disable feature for the processor serial number" But I haven't found that "hardware fix" yet. Jumpers on the motherboard sounds good to me. steve
