Right. If one wanted that kind of diversification why not buy Vanguard Index 500 for no commissions and minimal management fees? The more stocks , the less you know about each of them and the more decisions you have to make. I'm all for putting yourself in a position where there aren't that many decisions, each of which has a fair possibility of being wrong. That kind of position allows for some diversification (5 to 10 stocks)without over doing it to the point of mediocrity. Most of my money is in 4 stocks, the others are lagniappe.
