Pakistan will have no weight internationally if its domestic economy and polity remain weak. For many years to come the focus must be internal economic and institutional rehabilitation and financial self-sufficiency. Pakistan is more important than Kashmir and must come first.

Dawn to Pakistanis: Shape up or ship out --to Nigeria or Somalia.
These hopes may be a pipe dream. If so, there is always a Nigeria or a Somalia to emulate.
