re: Homestake, it looks like they will produce a little bit less in 1999 (2.4moz) than they did in 1998 (2.5moz). The only producing acquisition they made was the rest of Prime that they didn't own. Also, I think they paid way too much for Argentina Gold.

RE; Bottom line, industry will come very close to breaking 1998 production record (82.1moz) I think we will set a new record because Barrick, Freeport, and Rio Tinto will all be up 25% or more, which should cover other production cuts.
