I'am not exactly the president of Slider's fan club and I find his constant hyping of his holdings objectionable but you are grossly overstating his effect on FGI. His effect is simple......nothing, zero, nada. You are not giving enough credit to people for having their own ideas and their own opinions. We have a pretty sharp group of investors here and they can take care of themselves. Slider probably doesn't realize that he is hurting his own cause by being so strident.

If Slider or anyone is negative on FGI and decides to short it, there is absolutely nothing wrong with that. If you like it, you long it. If you hate it, you short it. That is what makes markets..differences of opinion. I hope we are not going to revisit the shorts vs. longs, short-term vs. long-term stuff here. That crap is so tiresome. Why don't we just think of ourselves as speculators? If we are in for five minutes or five years, long or short, we are just looking to ride the oil cycle up (or down) and get the hell out of the way when it ends. I'm comfortable thinking of myself as a speculator since what we are trading here are just pieces of paper with little intrinsic value. Its not that bad once you get used to it <vbg>.
