RE: <would you agree that if motorola or sunw or amd or all three support rambus memory, it will deflate the rambus "only because of intel" theory? unclewest>

It is not a "only because of intel" theory. It is a "only because Intel doesn't allow a choice" theory. Look, divide the world into 3 scenarios:
1. Intel did not annoint Rambus
2. Intel annoints Rambus but supports sdram equally well giving a true choice
3. Intel annoints Rambus but does not allow a choice (except maybe a fake choice)

Only 3. gets Rambus to $2B.

Oh, and nice try with your trick question.

kz,
the trick part zoomed over my own head...please enlighten me.
my question was simply this...if as you seem to think rmbs can only succeed riding intel's coattails. and if the laqst three significant players
(that are not already announced in the intel loop of over 100 major tech companies committed to rmbs)
sign up for rmbs what other alternative is there?

that presumption was obvious from my question. there was no trick. i am not into tricks.
i will f&&& with someone who f&&&$ with me...
you do not...
i can handle your occasional needling...no problem...
intellectualy, i respect our debate.
