Capital One, the world's largest credit card issuer, has signed a deal with The X-Stream Network, the UK's third largest internet service provider, to promote its cards through on-screen advertisements and web promotions.
The one-year deal will see the US-based credit card company advertise on X-Stream internet sites via a series of banners, buttons and text messages.
Capital One will also be given access to X-Stream's database of 429,000 users, which it will use in direct marketing campaigns to promote its products.
Matt Cooper, senior vice-president at Capital One UK, said: 'The internet provides one of the most natural ways to deliver services on an individual basis.
'This partnership will enable us to target and acquire new customers and learn more about the growing number of consumers who use the internet,' he said.
Capital One has used internet advertising previously, most recently running a series of banner ads on the UK's biggest free internet provider, Freeserve.
Creative work for the campaign was handled by Capital One's in-house team.
Capital One declined to comment on the cost of the partnership.
