Broke2: Thanks for the post and information. I understand that the films were previously owned by the parties that repurchased them. Both parties reportedly backed out of the law suit as a pragmatic matter, i.e., cost of litigation. The improved business relationship with the former adversaries was reportedly facilitated by the new management of MDCE, and by the fact that there is new management.

I wondered the same thing about selling the Ninth Bullet. I venture, however, that there is a mutual benefit and interest in the stock for film transfer. MDCE is absolved of the cost of clearing title to the film library (as reported), they do not have to advance costs to complete Ninth Bullet, and they can participate in any equity improvement assuming DFNL does well. From DFNL's presumed viewpoint, they get their property back, and no up front cash is required for the acquisition. They may be in a more experienced position to make use of the film library. This may also reflect the "bird in the hand" philosophy, in that MDCE had re-established relations with DFNL when resolving the law suit (or perhaps it was part of the discussion when resolving the law suit was undertaken). The news release on the law suit resolution might have a clue, but I haven't tried to look it up again.
