I agree fully but still, giving it away reduces the understanding of it also to the one who copies it IMO.

For example, working on it, changing parameters, testing, adding filters to reduce false signals etc all leads to understanding it's strengths and weaknesses. I know my system is horrible in a strong moving market. Bounces after sell offs, sell offs in panic stricken or news driven markets etc. However in a channel following market, it is almost fool proof.

I just finished the latest draft of my current system and still don't have much faith in it unfortunately. It has issued some hard to believe singals the last couple weeks that I ignored and the pay offs would have been huge as it turned out it was correct each time.

I still have not perfected the exit signal part of my system yet and have been working on all kinds of things without finding the holy grail. Unfortunatly I trade options so trailing stop losses are not possible on index options thus I have been trying to find an early exit criteria that doesn't trigger on temporary dips. I haven't found an automated beast of this sort yet so the exit is still a human event right now and various back tests using automated techniques give the best results on strategies that are not feasable for my situation. ( I work full time dayshift so I can not utilize what the system likes best.)

3 years to retirement <ggg>

Good Luck,

Lee
