Folks, I don't mind poking fun at phobias but I also like to discuss about individuals phobia. We can laugh at these silly fears but to those who have these fears... it's not a joking matter. I knew a person who had a extreme fear of water (hydrophobia, ablutophobia). This person couldn't even go anywhere near a lake and couldn't take a bath, only shower (very short one). He found out later that he almost died when he was 2 by falling in a small pond. After he found this out, he dealt with this fear and now he said not only he enjoys bath but he even enjoyed the boat riding! I am not a doctor or psychologist but I think by discussing our fear, we can at least support each other and hopefully someday we can overcome our fear. We have advantage of anonymity in cyberspace, we don't have to fear someone will look at us with weird face. regards, jon
