<< my question is, why do some factions insist that every word in the bible is hard science? >> Many Christians have maintained that the bible was written by man, thru God. They maintain that it is God's word. So, if there is one error in the bible, then it can't be the word of God. God doesn't make mistakes. God knew that we would have PCs during the 20th century, but there is no mention of PCs in the bible. God knew that we would have wireless communications in the 20th century, but there is no mention of this in the bible. Nor is there any mention of cars or machine guns or polio vaccines or hula hoops, even though God knew that these things were coming. God also knew that Microsoft and Intel would be great investments in the 20th century. Why didn't he tell people in the bible to invest in these two stocks. In fact, I don't even think that stocks are discussed in the bible. <g> I would hope that, in Kansas, they would discuss alternatives to God's decision to have Christ crucified. For instance, could God have found another way to forgive mankind's sins other then to wait over 20 years for his son to develop, so that he could have him killed? Or, was this God's only option? |
