Anything over 8MB is most likely assigned to 3D rendering..of no use in 2D.

I agree with you about 2D performance of a vid card. In fact, since the G400 is proving problematic in its infancy and delivery dates keep getting extended I am going to pick up a couple of the old Millennium IIs to hold me over as I heard they can be had for $30+-. They were considered the top 2D card in their day and I'll bet most of the advancements of todays cards have been in 3D.

Matrox web site indicates the MIll II supports up to 4 monitors. Am I correct in assuming if a card advertizes multi-monitor support it can be run in a multi environment under NT?
