Yes, and good god fearing Christians killed, countless millions of innocent people doing that "spreading of that 'Peace loving' Gospel"!
They even killed countless millions of other "christians"! Ever heard of the Thirty Years War, or the Hundred years Wars? Or the Crusades?
****This country was not founded on the premise that this new unspoiled , and great new continent was a play-ground for the "christians", as 8th grade history class might have led you to believe, and you never searched farther...but a place where universal "FREEDOM" would be practiced, justice for all (tell it to the natives) and a unique truthful and objectively honest way of dealing equally with the many
unique expressions of god's love in the variety of the lives of man, of which christiANITY(what insanity, sometimes), IS ONLY ONE OF 1000'S UPON THIS PLANET!
i'LL SAY THIS ONE MORE TIME: Statistically christianity is a majority
as a religion in this country, but it is irrelevant, totally to the premise of : Freedom of Worship...freedom of belief!
Our Founding Fathers (some of the most important= Tom Jefferson , Ben Franklyn) were after something greater in the definitions of God, than
some cheerleading, bible-pounding majority, talking that age old BS about "burning in hell forever! What Tripe! They respected a God great enough to see far into the future, and allow the newest discoveries of that time to dictate the most benign set of beliefs for
the men and woman of that time. So that the men and Women of that time
may choose to set their own paths accordingly. Ben Franklyn stated he
didn't think Jesus was the "Only Son Of God"...and he was right, IMO!
Nowhere does it say "One Nation under a christian God" in our Constitution... and it will never say that, ever!
do you get it now? They ( the brightest stars of our republic ), envisioned and foresaw those who would try to appear as though they humbly spoke for god, because their light was the only true light!
forget it! Not in America. Only Truth shall prevail, and that is not a christian truth, at all.
If you wish to practise a christian belief, do so in private, in sacred fashion, your beautiful religion deserves. All else, is
unseeming.
BTW like to most humbly offer a prayer for you to my God & Gods... not all of us see the world as full of sin....I would humbly suggest that you have represented your great teacher long enough , nailed to a cross... might be time to stop frightening your children with such cruelty, and teach them more of love and compassion, and emphasise the metaphores of life, and inner beauty. And take that most beautiful and loving teacher, Jesus of Nazareth down off that
horrible cross, and let him be buried finally, with peace , respect and great honor. Instead you parade his suffering and defeat , which by the way was caused by the money-lender's on the temple steps who bought Judas off for 30 pieces of silver, remember? your Bible tells how they laughed, when Judas accepted, those thirty coins ...they were willing to pay a 100! Jesus last week on earth began by kicking the tables of the money-lenders over in Jeruselem. A week later he was
crucified! Coincidence? Act of God? ThinK about it...when you buy lots of stocks today on margin!
the glass is very much half full..with or without your christianity, and it's view of all others living in a godless eternity! What spiritual tyranny, to proclaim such rubbish to good Buddhists or Hindus or Jains or Taoist, who are as pure in thought and deed as you.
Long live America, just remember it's not "Christian America"... Just
