I started watching the futures at 4:45 and they were up 2.7 ish and have steadily moved up as the morning progressed. I'd say it's more like the back from lunch phenomenon in the stock market where the market mildly rallies as more participants enter the market. IMO

I think there is probably a lot less conspiracy than ignorance in the market. S&P futures are widely traded world wide and would be pretty hard to manipulate. Matt
