Do I look like I have trouble standing the heat? Am I the one who is resorting to personal attacks? And do you think I would have any trouble dredging up old posts from various persons writing here and portraying them as "non-sense" and "lies"? I choose not to operate on a gutter level. That's my decision and I'm comfortable with it.

Funnily enough, nobody here is addressing the substance of my original post. Has Qualcomm's handset division spun out of control or not? If not, why did Wall Street force the company to sell it? And why is the stock rallying on the news that the division will be sold? Is the chipset division really in the position to defend margins or not? If Nokia and Motorola keep making their own chipsets and Koreans switch out from using Qualcomm as they have clearly stated they intend to do; how much can the chipset market share fall?

All these issues tie into the fact that Qualcomm has not faced direct, tough competition before. Many people think that now that it will, it can thrive. Some do not. But this is a genuine issue. You can't sidestep it by silencing everyone who raises it. Most posters may be too timid to risk the wrath of the mighty Q hivemind currently controlling SI. That's a loss for all SI readers.

Brian - I think it has been established beyond any doubt that all digital standards currently have lousy freeway coverage in USA. We all know which policy decision caused this situation.
