Ed: Like Charles Dallas (Post # 2474), I've enjoyed the exchange of
views in investment strategies between you (# 2470) and Hugh
Phillips (#2472). However, you wrote: "Here's what I did in my
retirement account, which I use for conservative investments".

If your retirement account is a self-directed IRA or other such tax-
sheltered instrument, why are your conservative plays there when
taxes on any gains are deferred? I have a sheltered retirement
account plus open, fully taxed ones. I try to apportion most of the
potential multi-bagger stocks to the sheltered accounts. Am I missing
something? My AXC holdings (sure to be a moon shot) are in my IRA.
I plan on rolling over my huge, untaxed Ampex gains fully into other
potential high-return equities, but your position has me wondering.
