TA is like throwing knuckel bones into the wind.

Ancient shaman, in order to diagnose illness would throw knuckel bones into the wind to see how they fell into a circle. Based on the analysis some chants were sung and some herbs were prescribed, perhaps with a few punches here and there. If the person survived, the shaman was sucessful. But if the person died, then the evil spirit...something entirely unrelated to the knuckle bones over-came the shaman's power. In reality, of course the importance of the shaman's interpretation and power depended upon the confidence the person gave the shaman.
TA works like this: the chart interpretation gives you confidence to bet your money. If it works, TA is a sucess. If it didn't, then you didn't follow TA exactly as the rules mandate, or the market conditions...alike the great spirt...prevented TA from doing its job.

I say: learn and use TA if it gives you confidence to bet your money in a process that depends upon almost random movements. But if TA doesn't give you that confidence, then learn some fundamentals to see if that gives you better peace of mind.

Joe.
