Savant...Obviously the DD you are doing for a friend is severely lacking or else you would have realized that the company is in fact buying back their shares (about 5% of the outstanding amount) announced on 8/1999. With respect to the special dividend, please note that this is in conjunction with their partial divestment in SWRX. Each shareholder on 9/30 record date will receive a .29 dividend payable on 11/15...this amounts to about a 17% yield based on current the share price. The DJIA is up about 18% ytd...not a bad return for CCEE shareholders in my opinion!!! There are certain advantageous tax repercussions in distributing the proceeds to shareholders as a one-time dividend. I'm not sure exactly what you are trying to insinuate with your mentioning of "insiders" as the beneficiaries of this dividend. Yes, many if not most officers in the company probably own shares of CCEE (as do most officers in listed stocks own shares in their own company...so what is your point???) and will benefit by this...however the majority is owned by the investment public which will be the real beneficiary. Earnings were up more than 400% last quarter. So with all of these positive things going on at CCEE Savant, I wonder if there is a word that should be placed in front of your name that gives us a more accurate description of yourself!!! "Hmmmmmmm"
