They better evolve. But there will be no sudden conversions. The core networks are too expensive to replace - US operators still haven't even recouped the initial investment, much less made any profit. That's the problem with Nextel. They are stuck to iDEN standard forever and ever. No matter how good they look now, if they fall behind when CDMA and GSM start upgrading to mobile data, they have nowhere to run.
