Order processing -- such as in hospitals all across the country.
That's one huge industry. As in large scale manufacturing of just
about anything. Another huge industry. As in any kind of purchasing department. Another huge piece of the pie. There's a lot of money
out there in "order processing" and other low level tasks that require flexibility among disparate users.

I don't think anyone here believes that the graphics designers are going to be using thin clients. Publishing, programming -- these
are the things the Byte article points out thin clients would
not be good at. Duh, I didn't know that. This is why I say his
criticisms ring a little hollow.

A parallel argument: "PC's? For who? The home market and small businesses? Serious users requiring true power are going to be using
souped up workstations and mainframes anyway. Hence, PC's will never attain critical mass."

There is a failure of logic in the article on the relative sizes
of the markets on which the author comments.
