Frank, More data for you! :-) Intel's processors need an unusually long time for the required context switch - AMD's K6 and particularly Cyrix's M2 manage this switch notably better. Market observers estimate that it will take three years before Slot-1 has caught up with Socket-7. Until then they expect a demand of 200 million Socket-7 boards. Whoever offers the best price/performance ratio should have it made... The question is whether AMD and the Cyrix plants can satisfy this demand. heise.de A few data starts to show that M2 has the best MMX performance.
