Thank you Bux but how NXTL's service held up well thru the storm isn't the only reason am thinking of investing in it... it's a fact on a long list of positives inspired me to announce thinking of it (holding no shares in Nextel, never have had any, looking at it more and more lately as it's held up thru this summer bashing like a champ). It's at such a high right now and it seems to keep going on an upward trend, but for how long can it hold the momentum, is the biggest drawback of buying now IMHO. Latest news of a raise to strong buy and higher target (not even being post-split) from Prudential and intent to buy more wireless licenses and FCC permission to get on a broader spectrum to better compete with local access companies are just three recent good news items out there for this company that haven't escaped my notice lately. Been watching it's synergies with companies into the coming wave of wireless internet gizmos and mini operating systems and got friends who use Nextel and recommend it. Been told by techies of my acquaintance that this is a top provider for wireless internet now because it's keeping up with the mfg's.- (Nextel's model customizations staying in good conformance to the changing demands of the specialized adapter connections to the wireless-ready modems on the newest portable gizmos)... and this on top of Nextel's reliability as a handheld phone-speak provider. In other words, that there's a logjam in availability of these products everyone wants, and that Nextel is attempting to stay abreast of the needed accessories, speaks well of it's future progress as a provider of choice IMHO.
From how I understand it ( correct me if I'm wrong )Nextel's being independent as is of local wire-bound providers means a breakdown in a local station wouldn't hold up Nextel for long simply because of it's setup as was discussed a few posts back... that the code to access the next area could easily be call-forwarded or changed internally and then On You Go.
So anyway, was inspired to give the news here that this Co. came thru in Floyd's aftermath for subscribers around here. Can extrapolate a result could be more expansion of subscribers and perhaps some buyers of shares as a result. It's an important area here because the northern part of New Jersey is like, it's Wall Street West. The phones in this area only dialed in-town til last nite - folks talking on a cellphone in public were being pestered with "Whose your provider?" (would rather not say who pestered 'em let's callit onsite product performance DD) and begged to loan it out to make a short call for good money.
Thought to share some firsthand info as a fact with this thread, along with my opinion as to its direction - the importance of either can only be judged compared with the individuals own DD, trading strategy, and viewpoint.
Best to all,
Joana
