Hi Bernard,

The nightmare that is France is a very good object lesson for those in the US who think that the answer to this country's social ills lies in centralized management a la the Rodham-Clinton/Magaziner proposal for nationalized health care. I no longer have the least bit of faith in the elites who claim to know what it best for the rest of us.

In France, this problem may be intractible due to the fact that the best and the brightest children are only allowed to enter les ecole nationale which focus on public policy and management and sadly neglect engineering, technology and science. In other words, all the important stuff that makes countries prosperous and effective. Sadly, this intransigence seems to be genetic and has spread to Quebec, another case of mass moronity. At least they are ahead on HFC, to bring this back to the last mile, so to speak.
