Paul,

Great analysis! Too bad it won't rid us of his nonsense.

They could have used your thought processes in that downtown LA jury last year.

I'm very happy to see your posts once again.

I have an on-topic question too. I am having trying to understand what might be happening in our digitial tv/pc future.

I read today that INTC, MSFT and CPQ will propose a digital-TV strategy on Monday at a conference in Las Vegas on Monday 4/7.

The companies will try to convince television broadcasters to adopt their digital television standards, to ensure personal computers have a large role in home entertainment.
At the National Association of Broadcasters conference, the companies would propose a strategy emphasizing Internet-based information services and interactivity.

What happens if they succeed? When digital tv arrives next year, will we be receiving tv signals thru our PC's? Or TV's? Assuming we had a digital TV receiver, how would the signal reach the receiver? Telephone lines? How are broadcast tv stations going to transmit all those on/off bits to our tv's. Will every tv become a pc or will every pc become a tv? Won't this revolution sell an incredible amount of INTC chips that aren't now being sold?

What if they fail and different standards are adopted? Will PC's be competing directly with TV's? What will this mean in terms of our favorite company.

I would love to hear your thoughts on this.

Barry
