Ron:" airplane oil leak at $24/bbl "

That's very interesting about DAL - Delta, Ron - the airline sector has certainly taken a beating this year. Though higher fuel costs have affected freight carriers, so far most Americans continue to buy Stupid Ugly Vehicles as fast as the automakers can crank out truck chassis (^_^)

"Berney" is the resident F/A maven here, Ron. Most of us are actually sittin' on a long-term CORE of stocks; but, we like to take side-bets on all the folks jumping on and off the train. Yeah... Berney and Paul have been known to take "huge" positions for +2, +5, +10% movements {grin}

I bought ALK - Alaska Air @ CLOSE. I would be very happy to sell it for +1 point ( = one "bone" ) tomorrow or, any time this week... it's just a 300s "bet", Ron.

Long-term investment-wise, I like FDX - Federal Express (U.P.S. will IPO soon) in this sector, and the ~5.2% APR yield paid twice a year on BAB - British Air ADR (next ex-div = NOV-99). I would recommend buying an equal amount of BPA+SLB or XON+HAL to hedge these two transport stocks (and vice-versa) in a portfolio, fwiw.

What kinda stocks / options are you holding, Ron ?

-Steve
