Yougang: Re" Think about this: If such military action be launched (not to mention other huge ramifications), Athlon will be dead for there are no MOBO and chipsets coming out from Taiwan."

Well, we better hope that the PLA don't touch the Hsinchu Science Park or the entire electronic industry is in trouble. Let's see, 5 TSMC fabs, plus UMC, Winbond (have they completely rebuilt that huge fab after the fire?), Mosel-Vitelic, Acer etc etc.

Even if they just blockaded Taiwan, imagine the incredible shortage of all electronic components. All the PCs, motherboards, memory, graphics chips, SLICs, DSPs.. I shudder at the thought.

"I am cautiously optimistic at this moment that China would refrain from attacking Taiwan in any military form or shape. "

Well, invasion wouldn't be possible, but a blockade might be. Here's hoping it never comes to pass.
