CB, you haven't been around on the same threads that I have been involved in long enough to know what has gone on before to precipitate the antagonistic flavor to my posts and responses.

#1.I did a great deal more than vote for conservative candidates beginning in the early 60s in south central Texas when it was a democratic stronghold and any one who differed with them was summarily crucified in public. I participated in all local republican caucuses and went on to represent my county at the state conventions on several occassions as well as being county chairman. Sure Goldwater and Reagan were gentlemen,as well as John Tower,Bob Dole,George Bush,and John Connelly when he showed great courage to leave the democratic party to join the republicans.Phil Gramm has also shown great courage by resigning from the democrat party and running for election as a republican instead of just walking across the aisle as he was permitted to do.

#2.When I first got aquainted with these threads and attempted to make comments and voice opinions in a civil, calm manner with no intent to insult or agitate, I received such bitter and vindictive retaliation, that I decided to fight fire with fire. Being old enough to qualify as a curmudgeon, I became one and chose to be a thorn in certain peoples' sides. I really do not care if you approve or not but,would like to point out that calling me a jerk lowers your position below that of a gentleman,also. You should learn more background before leaping down another's throat.^ ^ ^TD
