ACE*COMM Corp Appoints New President and Chief Operating Officer
GAITHERSBURG, Md., Sept. 15 /PRNewswire/ -- ACE*COMM Corporation, (Nasdaq: ACEC) a leading global supplier of network operations support solutions to telecommunications service providers, announced today the appointment of Gino O. Picasso to its Executive Management Team as ACE*COMM's President and Chief Operating Officer. Mr. Picasso is a senior telecommunications and information technology executive with an impressive career spanning nearly 20 years of progressively expanding responsibility, in major companies.
For the last four years Mr. Picasso was President of General Electric Spacenet Services, Inc. and was responsible for all aspects of this business. He was appointed to the position after General Electric acquired the division from GTE in late 1994. Mr. Picasso led efforts to expand the company's market presence in the satellite networking business. During his four-year tenure, he achieved a four-fold growth in revenues and established the company as a global leader in an intensely competitive market. Mr. Picasso's success resulted from an effectively implemented plan to deploy differentiated products and services and expand the business outside the U.S., into over 30 countries through new ventures and acquisitions.
Prior to his appointment as President of Spacenet, Mr. Picasso was Vice President, Business Development & International Marketing for GE Americom, GE's satellite services division. Mr. Picasso also worked for Telxon Corporation as Vice President of Applications Systems and McKinsey & Company, where he focused on IT telecommunications industry consulting. Mr. Picasso holds an MBA with distinction from Wharton Business School, an M.S. in Computer Science from the University of Maryland and B.S. in Mathematics from Georgetown University.
