DVD player sales are spectacular. According to statistics from CEMA, for the week ending Sept. 10, 1999, DVD player sales reached 30,980, a 401.9 percent increase from 1998. For the week, projection television sales were also on the rise at 21,302, a 56.5 percent increase. Month-to-date sales of DVD players were 78,640, a 392 percent increase and projection television sales were 47,265, a 29.9 percent increase. Year-to-date, DVD player sales are just shy of 2 million, totaling 1,950,496, a 325.7 percent increase from 1998 and projection television sales are 697,357, a 10.1 percent increase.
