Akula, you are very fortunate to have the opportunity of viewing life from your great uncle's farm to studying astrophysics. Although you don't want to choose the same work as your uncle, this man has probably acquired much wisdom in his life, and it would be to your benefit to listen with an open mind. As for scientific research, there is so much yet to be discovered to help cure so many physical conditions. I think it's a wonderful and exciting field to be in.
